The correct response to the 2024 election is neither candidate. If the Democrats passively accrue left wing support in 2024, the election’s farcical nature will be entirely the U.S. Left’s responsibility for our failure to capitalize on the lessons wrought in the past four years.
We are told our elections are free and fair, but free and fair for which class?
Harris claims to be a progressive, but she has the record of a brutal reactionary. She pretends that her campaign is about smashing glass ceilings and empowering women and people of color, but she has made a career of oppressing women and Black people, and is directly involved in the ongoing genocide of the Palestinians.
Both Harris and Walz have been clear on their commitment to the zionist entity’s “right to defend itself” and they will continue to support that “right” to torture, rape, and butcher Palestinian men, women, children, and babies, on an indefinite basis.
Then, we must advocate for the only resistance that can weather the storm of active, crisis fascism: Communism. Communism must become the name of the resistance against Trump and his Nazi cabinet. Resistance must be red.
In reality, the Phoenix Program never went away. Now it is mushrooming up again as the Department of Homeland Security, militarized police, targeted murder of Black Lives Matter activists, and the not one but many Cop Cities springing up all over the United States.
Fascism is an order of austerity, a plundering of the public sectors by the private, taking away the menial social concessions from the working classes and enforcing the dictatorship of capital.
This isn’t international political inertia — it’s the forging of a new, even more right-wing Democratic Party.
The Trump verdict is not progress but a distraction from what really matters.
