What is the point of this article? To instill pessimism and fear?

The American imperialists are waging an offensive against the proletariat (settlers as you like to call them) of America. This of course implies what Maoists have been yelling at third-worldists for decades: the chief enemy of the worlds people is the American imperialists, the American proletariat do not hold political power.

Unable to properly answer the question 'Who are our enemies, who are our friends?', the third-worldist has no answers for how to beat back this offensive. The answer is clear to those of us who take seriously Mao's prescription to 'unite the masses, don't split the masses', the proletariat of all races and nations across America must be united on their common interest to make revolution. The real and difficult longstanding racist barriers that prevent unity must be mercilessly beaten down and every effort must be made to promote unity among all workers.

This was the line first developed by Marx and Engels, then handed down from the comintern under the great Lenin and further upheld by Mao. This is the work the CPUSA was engaged in before it's turn to revisionism and subsequent liquidation. Uphold Cyril Briggs, not Haywood.

Stop blaming the masses for the failures of communists. For those 'settler' communists, go to work (actual work, like in the factories) amongst the multinational proletariat and struggle against their backwardness. Make them take up the struggle of the workers of all nations. Their objective class interests lie in uniting for revolution.

For the communists of the oppressed nations, struggle against incorrect post modern ideas of third worldism. Show them their interest in uniting with white proletarians. Their objective class interests lie in uniting for revolution.

Do not fear difficulties. Go and unite the proletariat
